Networking & Contacts Data Base --- Networking Log (Nancy)  --- Supporters List (Robin)

Networking Log

Nancy is awaiting reports back from legislators.  Anyone with discussions with legislators should get the information to Nancy to put on the Log.

Supporters List

Robin & Jean will meet to go over some technical aspects.

Network Building (Posie, Sherry, Linda, Nancy)

Allies Campaign

We’ll start with the top ten + (eleven) from the last meeting.

Linda will take over some of Nancy’s groups.  Robin offered to take on more.

1) Call script has been redrafted by Nancy.

2) Letter is a template that we should modify to add the contact’s name, date, etc.

Posie suggested adding a paragraph about LD433.  Nancy will revise the letter with this.

3) Sign-up Form for allies.

Posie said that the latest version of the letter to potential allies does not suggest reciprocity, that we’re not offering it up front.  If the group asks for reciprocity, we should say that we’ll take it under consideration.

Jean will send the letter to everyone in various formats with the letterhead logo.

Letters should be sent as an attachment.

Jean offered to do a workshop with anyone needing help with how to get the letter transferred to our emails, etc.  Leda Beth mentioned that there is also a tech person at the library on Tuesdays.

Robin has talked to her cousin about a tea with Janet Mills.  Questions about timing, who to invite, overall vision of the tea, etc. will be directed to Lois Reckitt for advice (Nancy & Posie will contact her). Robin said Mary Hermann may also have advice.

Capacity for the tea is approximately 45 to 50.  There is a lecturn available.  It costs $5/head which we would sponsor.

LD433

Lois said that it’s going to the Judiciary Committee.

Leda Beth asked if there are other groups in Maine working on the same efforts as Equal Rights Maine.  Nancy & Posie will ask Lois.

Leda Beth said that it is critical to get constituents to call their legislators.

Linda, Robin, and Sally will contact the 14 Republicans/ Independents that were suggested by Lois:  3 House Independents, 3 Republican Senators, and 8 House Republicans.  They will get the initial feedback to Nancy so that she can pass it on to Lois.
