Be Involved

What can I do?

Be Informed.  Read this website. Talk about what you have learned.  Talk to your family, your friends, your neighbors.  Talk to people who didn’t vote the way you did.  Help us let people know that we don’t have equal rights for women stated in the Constitution. Speak up for an Equal Rights Amendment.

How can I speak up?

Call your Members of Congress.  Call regularly.  Use our simple Be Involved page to stay informed as this U.S. Congress considers, again, the Equal Rights Amendment.  Recruit others to do the same.

How are we heard?

We need voices in numbers.  Many voices.  And often.  Our Members of Congress need to know what we think, how we plan to vote.  We think that calls are better than emails but do both. Often. The calls are counted. Keep it simple.  Write notes for yourself before you call.  Give your zipcode with your name. Then, call tomorrow. And next week.

The full U.S. Congressional delegation from Maine has signed onto the ERA bills in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.  Thank them and ask them to encourage their colleagues to do the same!

We will be updating you on what bills come before this Congress and when the calls to our Members of Congress are more critical and specific.  Check back in on this website and Stay Informed.

If you are not from Maine, look for a group like ours that is working for the ERA in your state.  If you don’t find one, start one.  We will help you.
